To impart biblical instructions to our children in partnership with parents.
Deuteronomy 6:7 ESV
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
We seek to rise up God-fearing children who establish a firm foundation in the word of God through Bible study. We wish for every child to journey with us in the children ministry to experience a wholesome relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
Some of our Sunday school teachers do have a background in education as a result of their occupations. Others embrace faith, passion and a desire to teach and share God’s words.
Our teachers attend ministries related courses periodically to be instructed and enlightened through biblical mandates.
Sunday School Hours
Our regular Sunday School hours are from 10.30 am to 12 noon every Sunday except for the first Sunday of every month (Holy Communion Sundays). On special events such as Easter, Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day and Christmas, routine classes are suspended for outreach purposes. We encourage all children and teachers to participate in the celebrations cum outreach events. We ensure that all forms of celebrations encompass an underlying Gospel message relevant to the occasion.
Past events/ outreach
For Christmas, we explored the true meaning of Christmas with a group of children through a skit. While we all love Christmas because of its glitz and gifts, we are reminded that truly, Christmas is a time we commemorate and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, whose birth brought great rejoicing to the world. Every child came with a gift and brought home another through gift exchange. It is an exchange of love for one another, in this season of thanksgiving.
Creation Big Book
The Creation Big Book (2013) was the first endeavour of the Sunday School ministry to contribute towards our overseas mission project in Mae Sot, Northern Thailand. Piece by piece, page by Page and layer by layer, children and teachers work at it diligently to produce our own Creation Big Book that detailed the 6 days of creation by God. The book was then brought to Mae Sot by the mission team as a gift to Lily and Sparrows Learning Centre.
Mae Sot mission trip
Less than a year after our first contribution to Mae Sot Mission, 4 children and 4 teachers from ECOS Sunday School ventured with the other mission team members to carry out God’s commission for us to go out and share His gospel to every person throughout the world and to make disciples. Most of us had taken our very first step and it will surely not be the last.
It was a truly memorable June holiday where we spent 1 week in Mae Sot reaching out to the less privilege. We thank God for His covering and blessing throughout the mission trip. In spirit and in health, we returned as a stronger person. All glory and praise to our awesome God for His amazing love.
It was very edifying to see many of our Sunday school children serving with passion in Mae Sot. They mingled well with the locals; they prayed, played, sang, ate, served and were in turned greatly blessed. Church members came together to serve as one unit for one common purpose, that is to serve like how Jesus came to serve and not be served.
